Deerwood Fitness Center
Come visit our fully-equipped Fitness Center.
Whether your goal is to drop a few pounds, maintain your current wellness routine or discover new ways to burn calories through group fitness classes, you’ll find that staying active is a pleasure at Deerwood Country Club. Our Fitness Center is stocked with strength training equipment, cardio machines (including elliptical trainers, treadmills, stationary bicycles, recumbent bikes and stair machines), a 1,300-square-foot group fitness studio and a junior Olympic-sized swimming pool.
Before using the Fitness Center, we ask members to sign a health history questionnaire and to consult their physician. Teenagers ages 14-16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to use our fitness facilities. With the exception of specially designated classes for children, no one under the age of 14 may use the Fitness Center.

*The ladies' steam room and men's sauna are open during Fitness Hours
Additional amenities offered at the Fitness Center include:

- Key Fob entry available for extended hours (4am - 10pm) for most membership types.

Darren Angle
Director of Fitness

Darren Angle was raised in the St Louis area and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a devoted husband, father of four, and 9 grandchildren.
With a strong background in leadership and wellness, Darren spent 5 years as a Gym Supervisor and another 5 years as a Fitness Director in Ponte Vedra prior to joining The Deerwood family. His commitment to Service, family and personal growth defines his journey.
Darren’s goal is to give you and your family the best experience possible at the Fitness Center.

Greg Loving
Trainer
Greg has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and is a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified Personal Trainer. He is a Jacksonville native, who actually grew up in Deerwood and he enjoys his work as a trainer as it allows him to make a positive impact on the lives of his clients.
In addition to physical fitness, Greg is an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to college football and basketball.

Zach Coates
Personal Trainer
A former 3 Sport athlete in Football, Wrestling, and Track and Field. With 2 years of college football experience. A Personal Trainer and corrective exercise specialist who creates detailed and well-drawn out personal training templates made special for all clients. A trainer for 6 years Zach specializes in strength training, injury rehab and anaerobic/aerobic exercises of all kinds.
He is currently enrolled in UNF’s Sports Management program where he is studying to be an Athletic Director.

Lea Haller
Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer
Lea Haller’s commitment to fitness began with her love for sports as a youth, and it has guided her career as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor.
She has been training since 2010 and continues to pursue different avenues of fitness. Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, with a background in weights, cardio, and high intensity interval training (HIIT) classes. Her background includes Fitness Coaching and Group Exercise Instruction.
